The 5/4 x 6 Eased Edge Ipê is our most popular commercial-grade decking profile — the thicker 5/4 dimension (actual ¾” to 1″ thickness) adds rigidity and impact resistance that makes it the go-to choice for high-traffic decks, pool surrounds, rooftop terraces, and any application where you want maximum longevity.
Why 5/4 over 1x?
The extra thickness allows for wider joist spacing (up to 24″ on center for commercial applications), reduces flex underfoot, and provides more material depth for sanding and re-finishing over the decades. For a deck you want to last a lifetime, 5/4 is the professional standard.
